Prepare a USB stick:
Format a USB flash drive to the exFAT file system.
Copy the downloaded autorun tool into the USB flash drive.
Insert the USB stick into the device to be tested.
A USB-A flash drive is required for the VLX.
A USB-C flash drive is required for the MLX and must be connected to the supplied USB-C dock.
Log onto the device remotely for easier access:
This is optional, but if feasible, it could streamline operation by avoiding typing on the small screen of the devices.
Remote connections can be established using the VNC protocol.
Logging in
On first usage, a login is required, however with subsequent use on the same USB flash drive, the sign-in and download processes are not required.
Click on the hidden DevTools Updater login button.
Enter your NavVis portal username (must have been authorised to access DevTools) and the password in the login screen.
You will now be able to access the available tools.
