Two VLX tools are available:
Heartbeat: A debugging tool for monitoring and controlling NavVis VLX devices.
Cam Live Viewer: A tool for visualizing and controlling NavVis VLX cameras, primarily used for diagnosing camera or lens issues.
Note: The numerical values in the individual fields are not critical for the intended use case. The key focus is on connection statuses and hardware detection.
Heartbeat
Shown here is the Heartbeat UI

Power Management Unit (PMU)
This section displays various readings from the PMU.
You can control the Console Fan in this area, including turning it on or off and adjusting the fan speed. This functionality is particularly useful for diagnosing the source of any unusual sounds within the system.
If both batteries are connected but only one is displayed, it may indicate a potential PMU hardware issue.
Battery Management System (BMS)
The battery status is displayed here.
You can view which batteries are connected, along with their charge levels and other relevant details.
USB Tree
This section displays the connected sensors and components.
If any part is listed as "Not found," it indicates a potential hardware issue and helps identify the source of the problem.
Stream Control Board (StreamCtrl)
This section provides important information about the StreamCtrl.
The fan at the head of the device can be toggled on or off here.
BeltHookAdjust
This section displays the current position of the belt hook.
Note: This information is not shown on VLX 1 (G9) devices, as they do not have a belt hook sensor.
ScannerHead and ScannerConsole
These sections display information about the head and console lidar scanners, respectively.
The Rotations Per Minute (RPM) is a critical metric and should remain around 1200. If the RPM value turns red, it indicates a significant deviation from the expected value, which may suggest a potential hardware issue with the lidar.
Inertia Measurement Unit (IMU) , Next Unit of Computing (NUC) and VLX
These sections display only the serial numbers of the various components.
Cam Live Viewer
Shown here is the Cam Live Viewer UI
With Cam Live Viewer, you can observe images from the four cameras in real time and store them at the location where the tool is being operated.
