Preparing the NavVis CLX for Scanning

Use this guide to prepare the NavVis CLX before you start scanning.

  1. Place the device on a flat surface.
    Place it on a flat, level surface such as a table or the floor.

  2. Clean the cameras, scanners, and screen. If dust or fingerprints appear on the cameras, laser scanners, or screen, use the supplied clean, dry microfiber cloth to clean them gently.

    1. Clean the Cameras.

    2. Clean the Scanners.

    3. Clean the Screen.

  3. Open the back cover.
    Release the small latch on the back cover and pull the cover down to open it.

  4. Insert the microSD card.

    1. Insert the microSD card into its slot in the battery compartment of the device.

    2. Push the microSD card with your finger to fully insert it.

  5. Insert the Li-ion battery. Insert the charged battery into its slot at the back, as shown.

  6. Close the back cover. Close the back cover and make sure it is secured in place.

  7. Insert the pole into the device.

    1. Push the pole into the base of the device.

    2. Twist the pole until the locking symbols on the pole and device line up.

    3. You hear a click when the pole is fully inserted and the locking symbol lines up with the arrow icon on the device.

  8. Turn on the NavVis CLX.
    Press and hold the power button at the base of the device until all indicator lights turn on.

  9. Wait for the device to calibrate. Wait 30 seconds until the device is ready (indicated by a beep).
