Preparing the NavVis CLX for Scanning

Use this guide to prepare the NavVis CLX before you start scanning.

1. Place the device on a flat surface.
   Place it on a flat, level surface such as a table or the floor.
   

1. Clean the cameras, scanners, and screen. If dust or fingerprints appear on the cameras, laser scanners, or screen, use the supplied clean, dry microfiber cloth to clean them gently.

   1. Clean the Cameras.
      

   2. Clean the Scanners.
      

   3. Clean the Screen.
      

2. Open the bottom cover.
   Release the small latch on the bottom cover and pull the cover down to open it.
   

3. Insert the MicroSD card.
   

   Note

   The MicroSD card is delivered with the card already installed. Use this procedure if it has been removed.

   1. Insert the microSD card into its slot in the battery compartment of the device.
      

   2. Push the microSD card with your finger to fully insert it.
      
      

      Removal note

      When removing the MicroSD card, push it in first to release it.

4. Insert the Li-ion battery. Insert the charged battery into its slot at the back, as shown.
   

5. Close the back cover. Close the back cover and make sure it is secured in place.
   

6. Insert the pole into the device.

   1. Insert the pole into the base of the device. Align the triangle symbols on the handle and device body.
      
      

   2. Twist the pole until the locking symbol on the pole aligns with the triangle on the device. You will hear a click when the pole is completely inserted, secured, and locked, and the red part of the pole will not be visible.

      

      Removal note: When removing the pole from the NAvVis CLX, pull the sleeve down on the pole before twisting it to remove.
      

7. Turn on the NavVis CLX.
   Press and hold the power button at the base of the device until all indicator lights turn on.
   

8. Wait for the device to calibrate. Wait 30 seconds until the device is ready (indicated by a beep).
