Checking and Charging the Li-Ion Batteries

Prev Next

Warning

Only use Li-ion batteries designed for use with the device and approved by NavVis.

The LED indicator on the battery charger turns red while charging and green once the Li-ion battery is fully charged.

Warning

  • Disconnect the Li-ion battery once charging is complete.

  • Dispose of the Li-ion batteries properly, in compliance with local regulations.

  • Contact NavVis Support for instructions on the correct recycling procedure.

Checking the Li-ion battery level

Press the small button on the Li-ion battery to check if it needs charging. You need at least 3 of the 4 lights on before scanning. The LEDs on the Li-ion battery indicate different charge levels.

Charging the Li-ion batteries

You can charge the batteries of the NavVis CLX in several ways, depending on your needs.

Charging using the battery chargers

Option 1: charging one battery using the battery charger

  1. Insert the battery power cable into the battery charger.

  2. Insert the Li-ion battery.

  3. Make sure it is fully inserted.

  4. Connect the battery power cable to the power plug.

  5. Connect the power plug to an electrical wall socket.

Charging the device directly

To charge the device, connect the battery power cable to the device and plug the other end into an electrical wall socket.

Charging from a power bank

If you are not near a power source, you can charge the battery or the device directly from a power bank.

Hot swapping the batteries

You can hot swap the batteries on the NavVis CLX while scanning, but follow these instructions precisely. Otherwise, the scan is interrupted and you lose the captured data.

Caution

If the device loses power (from a battery, power bank, etc.) at any time, all your scanned information will be permanently lost. Before you remove the battery, make sure the device is connected to a suitable external power source.

Caution

If the device is disconnected from a power source (battery, power bank, etc.) at any point, your scanned data is lost permanently.

If you are not near a power source and your batteries are depleted, you can use a power bank to keep scanning (at least a 65 W power bank).
