Introduction
NavVis IVION Smartguide is now available in beta. The NavVis IVION Smartguide is your built-in training companion, designed to help you explore and understand NavVis IVION step by step. It provides a collection of interactive guides that walk you through key workflows, new features, and helpful how-tos, ensuring you get the most out of the platform.
Getting Started
To ensure the in-app guide functions correctly, please make sure the following requirements are met:
Accept Cookies: When accessing your instance for the first time, you’ll be prompted to accept cookies. These are required for the in-app guide to work properly, as they allow the system to recognize your session and track your progress.
Log In to Your Instance: You must be logged into your NavVis IVION instance to access the guides.
Have the Right Permissions: Currently, in-app content is available for Admin roles only (Global Admin or Site Admin).
After logging in, you’ll be greeted by a welcome message introducing the in-app guide and inviting you to begin your first walkthrough.

Using the In-App Training
Once inside NavVis IVION, you’ll find a small round icon with the NavVis logo in the bottom-left corner of your screen. This is your access point to the in-app guide.
If the icon gets in your way, click and drag it to another area of your screen.

Clicking on the icon opens the list of available guides, grouped into three main folders:
Start Here: A quick onboarding series that introduces you to the main and most important workflows in NavVis IVION. These guides will automatically disappear once you’ve completed them all. These guides are only available in instances with the default language set to English or German.

New Features: Discover and learn how to use new capabilities introduced by the NavVis IVION team. These guides are available in instances with the default language set to English or German, and will appear in English if you are using another language.
How-To Library: A growing collection of step-by-step guides designed to help you work efficiently and effectively in your projects. These guides are only available in instances with the default language set to English or German.

Navigation Panel
When you open a guide, you’ll see a simple navigation panel that allows you to move through each step, search for other guides, or access support if needed.
Navigation Panel Icons (from right to left):
Help icon: Creates an email to our support team if you’re experiencing any technical issues with the guides.

Search icon: Find specific topics or guides.

Message icon: View important announcements or messages from the Customer Education team about new guides being added or any changes related to the in-app experience.

Compass icon: Return to the full list of available guides.

Close icon: Exit the current guide.
You can revisit the in-app guide anytime during your work with NavVis IVION by clicking the NavVis logo icon at the bottom-left corner of your screen.
Troubleshooting issues
In-App Guide Is Missing
If you don’t see the in-app guide, the most common reason is that cookies were rejected. Reopen your instance (you can also use an incognito browser window), and when the cookie consent pop-up appears, accept cookies.
A Step or Highlight Is Missing or Incorrect
Restart the guide by clicking the ✖ (close) icon in the top right corner of the step, then relaunch it from the NavVis icon.
If an area remains incorrectly highlighted, use the ❓ Help button to contact our support team.
A Guide Is not Available or not Working Correctly
NavVis IVION Smartguide has been optimized for English and German for the best experience. If your guide is not working as expected, follow the steps in this section.
If you can only see the “New Features” folder but your system language is English or German, please check that the language selected in the NavVis IVION platform matches your system language. If your NavVis IVION language is set to any language other than English or German, the other folders will not be visible.
Smartguide Languages
NavVis IVION Smartguide has been optimized for English and German for the best experience. If your system language is set to a language other than English or German, you can manually select English or German from the drop-down user menu to access all available guides.

If your NavVis IVION instance is in a different language and you prefer not to switch to English or German, you will only be able to access our guides for new features.
We are constantly working on improving your experience, and more languages will be added soon.
