Unfold the Control Point Pin from the pole. Make sure it's fully extended.

Capturing a control point

When you add a control point, make sure the scanner has a clear field of view of the surroundings. While adding a control point, monitor the SLAM status bar at the top of the Scanning screen.

The best method of adding a control point is from the surface of the wall or floor, when the device is stable, with no movement, and the scanner has a good field of view.

In the example below, the corner of the device touches the floor for stability, along with the Control Point Pin (two points of contact). This works best in a corridor with few features, since it gives the scanner a free field of view to the beginning and end of the corridor. Take care not to block the scanner, make sure there's a good field of view for the scanner.

Take care that the Control Point Pin doesn't slip as you capture the control point.

Once the device is in a position that gives the best accuracy and stability, you're ready to add the control point.

Capturing a control point on the device UI

1. Tap the Control Point icon.
   

2. Enter the Control Point ID of the Control Point sticker.
   

3. Tap Next.
   

4. Press the trigger button on the handle to add the location.

5. The screen confirms the control point is added, and the device makes a camera shutter sound.

6. Fold away the Control Point Pin after you capture the control point.

Caution

Make sure the Control Point Pin is folded back to the closed position to prevent damage or harm to yourself or others.

7. Tap Continue to keep scanning.
   

Managing control points

1. Tap the Control Point icon and scroll down to the list of control points in the current dataset.

2. Tap the control point you want to manage.
   

3. From here, you can delete the control point or edit the control point ID.
