Once visual Positioning has been correctly established:
When in Map Mode, a blue dot will appear on the map, indicating your position. An arrow will indicate the direction which your phone is facing. The blue dot will follow your position.
When in Panorama Mode, the app will show the closest Panorama to your position. The rotation of the panorama matches the direction your phone is facing.
Note: Active tracking is empowered by Augmented Reality technology. For this to work, the system will constantly analyze information provided by the device's camera. For this reason, your phone might indicate that the camera is active in the status bar. NavVis does not save any of the image information the camera provided on or off the device.
Follow Mode On
If Follow Mode is on:
When in Map Mode, the map will stay centered on the device's position, the map always is rotated so that the direction the phone is facing is up. Floors will change automatically. when you physically move to another floor.
When in Panorama Mode, the closest panorama to your position will load. The rotation of the panorama will be matched to the direction your device is facing.
Follow Mode is automatically turned on when Visual Tracking is active. To turn it off:
Pan the map.
Move a panorama.
Change the floor manually.
Follow Mode Off
When follow mode is off and visual tracking is active, NavVis IVION Go will still know your device's position, but the Map and Panoramas will not update accordingly. If you have a different floor selected than the one that you are currently physically on, the blue dot will display as semi-transparent.
A blue button with crosshairs beneath the positioning button indicates that Follow Mode is off. To turn it on, tap the crosshairs.
Tracking Loss
If the system cannot update your current position, the blue dot will remain static at your last known location. It will display a question mark at its center and will be encircled by blue rings that indicate where your position might be. To establish a Tracking session again, try re-positioning your device.
Note:
To keep tracking sessions alive as long as possible:
Keep your device's camera lens unobstructed.
Move slowly and steadily.
Stay in well-lit areas.
Scan objects and not only gray floors or white walls.
Re-Positioning
In case of Tracking loss, or if you believe that your position is not accurate enough, re-position yourself at any time. To do so, tap on the positioning button below the floor changer. This will initiate a Guided Picture Taking Process.
