Introduction
This section describes the procedure for connecting the device to Wi-Fi.
Prerequisites
Mapping Software version v5.1.0 or higher
Why do I need to connect the device to Wi-Fi?
Downloading a software update over Wi-Fi excludes the need to connect the device to a LAN cable.
Remote support over Wi-Fi is quicker and more convenient.
The following video shows how to connect to Wi-Fi that requires only a password (WPA2/WPA3 personal network).
Tap on the Wi-Fi icon
A list of available Wi-Fi is displayed.
Tap on the appropriate Wi-Fi.
Tap on the Connect button.
Enter the password for the Wi-Fi.
Tap Connect.
There is a slight pause while the device connects to the Wi-Fi.
A screen displays that the device is connected to the Wi-Fi.
Tap the Back button to return to the Home screen.
The Wi-Fi icon displays in a solid color to indicate it it connected.
Note
For devices that have a Mapping Software version lower than v5.1.0, or connections that require a user name and password (WPA-Enterprise) and networks that require browser login confirmation (e.g. in hotels, public locations, and guest networks) use the procedure from the Ubuntu screen.
