Creating a New POI

Long press anywhere in a panorama or on the map to create a Point of Interest (POI). The app will show:
A yellow marker where the POI will be created.
A form to initiate the process.
Note: Tap on the x in the corner of the form or anywhere on the map/panorama to exit the POI creation form.
To change the position where the POI will be created, long-tap anywhere on the map/panorama.
To create the POI:
On iOS, tap on POI.
On Android, tap on the drop-down menu Category.
Enter the POI details in the form that appears.
Choose a Category
Select a category from the drop-down menu. Scroll for more options.
Tap on the drop-down field to close the menu.
Note: The sorting of the list differs between iOS and Android.
Enter a Name
Tap on the Name field to enter a name for the POI. You can also use the built-in bar code, QR code, and text-scanner to scan text from asset tags, machine descriptions, and similar.
Text Scanner
Tap the scanner on the right side of the Name and Description fields. It will open the phone’s camera.
Aim the camera at the text, barcode, or QR-Code you want to scan. The interface will show a yellow rectangle to indicate that text was recognized.
Tap on the shutter button to start full text recognition.
In the next screen, all recognized text will be displayed over the image. Tap the text you want to copy. The numbers in front of the selected text indicate the order in which text will be taken over and which boxes it will fill.
Note: You can also deselect previously selected text. Re-selecting text changes the order of selection.
Tap Retake to go back and capture a new image.
Tap Deselect all to deselect everything.
Tap Done to go back to the POI editing page. The selected text will appear in the respective fields.

The Scanner supports the following types of codes and will automatically detect their type and content:

Note: Some Barcodes contain fine lines, optimized to be scanned by specialized laser scanners. To achieve optimal recognition, make sure to move the camera close to the code and hold the phone steady.
Enter a Description
Tap on the description field to open a Rich Text Editor. Enter the text and format it in the editor.
Note: Not all options that are available on NavVis IVION web are also available in the app.
To format text:
Tap the format button (e.g. B for "Bold") and start typing.
Highlight the text and tap the format button.
To remove formatting, highlight the text and tap on the formatting option that you want to remove.
Note: The method by which you highlight the text depends on your smart device's manufacturer and setup.
To create the POI, tap on the checkmark button (Android) or the Done button (iOS) in the top left corner.
Aborting the POI Creation/Editing Process
If you do not wish to save the changes, tap on the x button in the upper right corner. This will reset all changes made to the POI and return to the Map/Panorama view.
Saving Changes
Tap on Create POI to create the POI.
Tap on Save Changes to save changes to an existing POI.
Note: The POI will not be automatically selected. Once you close the form, the app will show the same view as before you started the POI creation/editing process.
