The NavVis VLX User Interface not displaying correctly

Issue description

The NavVis VLX screen does not display correctly. Text is misplaced and buttons cannot be clicked. Specifically, the Dataset naming screen displays incorrectly, as shown below. This issue is likely due to an update or changes in the Ubuntu UI settings.

Troubleshooting procedure

1. Start up the NavVis VLX.

2. Click on the settings icon.

3. Click on Exit and exit the Mapping UI. You can now see the Ubuntu screen.

4. Click on the top left on Activities.

5. Search for and enter the Ubuntu Settings.

   

6. Enter the Universal Access tab.

7. Check whether Large text is ON. It should be OFF instead.
