As an administrator of an instance, you may want to hide specific areas of a point cloud. The Point Cloud Cleanup tool is mainly used to remove areas of a point cloud such as spray points or other noise that you do not want displayed. To use the Point cloud Cleanup tool perform the following procedure.

Go to Site Setup>Point cloud cleanup.

Using the Cropping tool

Use the Cropping tool to select and hide areas of the point cloud with precision.

Navigate to the area where you want to cleanup the point cloud. Refer to panning and orbiting for help in navigating.
Click the Crop Tool icon.
The cropping tool screen is displayed. Adjust the cropping tool to select the area you want to hide. For information on how to use the cropping tool refer to https://knowledge.navvis.com/docs/downloading-point-clouds.
To turn off the cropping box controls, go to the settings icon and turn off Cropping box controls.
Click Add selection
Select the area of the point cloud you want to hide.
Click Hide selected and the area is hidden.
The data sets that you were working on are marked as Edited.
You can click Undo and the point cloud will revert back to the last action performed.
Click Save to confirm the changes.
After saving you can still revert back and unhide the point cloud:
1. Click the corresponding dataset.
2. Click the Trash icon.
3. Click Remove.
To publish any changes to your site exit Draft mode and click Publish. Refer to Publishing a draft.

Go to the {{glossary.Orthographic projection}} view

To navigate easily to an area you want to select and hide areas of the point cloud, use the Orthographic projection view.

While in Point cloud cleanup, click the Settings icon.
Switch On the Orthographic projection toggle and the view changes from Perspective view to Orthographic, refer to What is the difference between Perspective view and Orthographic view.
Navigate to the area of the point cloud you want to hide.
Click Add selection add and select the area of the point cloud you want to hide.
The area is highlighted, click Hide selected.
The area you selected is hidden.
The dataset is marked Edited to indicate there’s hidden areas of the point cloud.
You can click Undo and the point cloud will revert back to the last action performed.
Click Save to confirm the changes.
