Question: What should I do when my annual NavVis System Software or Desktop Processing Software update package is about to expire or has already expired?

Answer: Contact your NavVis Account Manager about renewing your annual updates package for your NavVis System and Desktop Processing Software. We recommend you make contact before your current updates package expires and then you can enjoy the latest updates without any delay.

 

Question: Can I process data if my NavVis VLX/M6 System Software version is different from my NavVis Desktop Processing Software version?

Answer: If your NavVis Desktop Processing Software version is higher than your NavVis VLX/M6 System Software version, then you can still process the Datasets captured by your NavVis VLX/M6.

  • Example: NavVis VLX/M6 System Software v2.10.0 and NavVis Desktop Processing Software v2.11.0

If your NavVis VLX/M6 System Software version is higher than the NavVis Desktop Processing Software installed on your processing system, then you need to update your NavVis Desktop Processing Software to at least the same version as your NavVis VLX/M6 System Software. Processing with this type of mismatch will probably fail.

  • Example: NavVis VLX/M6 System Software v2.11.0 and NavVis Desktop Processing Software v2.8.2

 

Question: I have two or more NavVis VLX/M6 devices with active NavVis Desktop Processing Software licenses, will they have conflicts?

Answer: No, they won't have conflicts if you have purchased NavVis Desktop Processing Software updates for each of your NavVis VLX/M6 devices.

 

Question: I have two or more NavVis VLX/M6 devices, and one of them has an expired NavVis Desktop Processing Software license. What should I do?

Answer: If one of your NavVis VLX/M6 devices has an expired NavVis Desktop Processing Software license, and you haven't purchased a new license for your NavVis Desktop Processing Software, you can no longer process data from this VLX/M6 with the latest NavVis Desktop Processing Software. When one of your license files expires, contact your NavVis Account Manager about obtaining the latest NavVis Desktop Processing Software updates for this specific VLX/M6.

 

Question: Can I install the NavVis Desktop Processing Software on multiple workstations using one NavVis Desktop Processing license?

Answer: You can only use one Desktop Processing Software license on one processing workstation according to our EULA:

If you have purchased annual Desktop Processing Software updates for a specific NavVis VLX/M6, you can place all license files for each NavVis VLX/M6 on the same desktop processing workstation. That way, you can process data captured withdifferent NavVis VLX/M6 serials on the same workstation.

 

Question: Can I still use my NavVis VLX/M6 and processing system if I don't buy new annual software updates?

Answer: If, after the 3 first years, System Software subscription has nor been purchased, you can still scan using the NavVis VLX, but the NavVis IVION Processing would not work. The data can be processed only if you have a valid System Software subscription.

Answer: You can find all the NavVis Desktop Processing Software licenses for your company in this link. Please download the license files to your local workstation or server for all the NavVis VLX/M6 devices that you want to process data from. For instructions, refer here.
