The Inspection and Maintenance service is a professional service available for all NavVis devices. This service is part of the broader NavVis Repair and Maintenance Services provided at the NavVis Service Centers in Munich, New York, and Shanghai.
The service is designed to ensure optimal performance, early detection of component wear or failure, and the long-term reliability of your NavVis Mobile Mapping System.
Recommended Maintenance Frequency
NavVis recommends scheduling professional Inspection & Maintenance every one to two years to ensure long-term reliability of your unit. However, more frequent servicing may be necessary under certain conditions. Early servicing may be required if:
The device is used daily.
Scratches are visible on cameras or laser sensors.
The device has suffered a severe crash or shows signs of multiple bumps.
The device is regularly shipped by air freight.
The device operates in harsh environments, such as areas with:
Excessive dust
High humidity
Elevated temperatures

What’s Included
Each Inspection & Maintenance service includes a thorough check of key system components, cleaning, test mapping, and the installation of available software updates.
The standard service includes:
Inspection for damages or component failures that could reduce device performance or data quality.
Check of electrical components and connections, as well as all mechanical parts.
Cleaning of sensors, the interior of the device, filters, and device boxes.
Test mapping to evaluate:
Device performance
Collision detection
UI responsiveness to user interactions and internal signals
Installation of available software updates
Note: An active System Software license is required to install software updates.
Service Execution
Bookings must be made through your local reseller or directly via NavVis Support.
During paid services, if any defects or damages are identified during inspection, a finalized repair quote will be provided, including:
Estimated service hours.
Required spare parts.
