Assign meaningful, unique names to your datasets so you can identify them and know which area each one covers. The names you assign now are used later when processing the data in NavVis IVION.
- From the Home screen, tap New Dataset to start a new dataset.
- Enter a custom name into the Custom name field.
Note: If you enter an invalid character in the Site_name field, a message notifies you.
- Enter the site name, floor, room, and try (the number of attempts for this scan), and an optional note.
Naming conventions
Consistent naming makes it easier to manage and post-process datasets. We recommend the following naming convention:
- "Company_Building_Floor.Room.DatasetNumber" — for example, TUM_Reaktorhalle_01.03
- If you need to re-map part of a site, add a sequential number for each attempt to the end of the dataset name — for example, TUM_Reaktorhalle_1.03_1
Note: Use a unique dataset name. The dataset is always uniquely identified by the date and time it was created. However, we recommend following the NavVis dataset naming convention:
