Troubleshooting Too far away from site for processed data

Prev Next

Introduction

This procedure describes how to help the customer when they receive the error message Datasets are too far away from site.

Note: There is a customer version of this troubleshooting here : https://knowledge.navvis.com/docs/datasets-are-too-far-away-from-site

This article describes the process for the support engineer.

Processed data with IVION Processing

Troubleshooting procedure

When the following error appears within your Processed Data tab check the points below to troubleshoot the issue.

1 Request access to customer instance

  • Access permissions are needed in order to check the control points + processing settings for those datasets

2 Download surveyed control points for the problematic dataset

  1. Download the surveyed control points for each problematic dataset: https://knowledge.navvis.com/docs/downloading-processed-data?highlight=download%20processed#procedure

  2. Check if the surveyed control points contain an EPSG Code in the header. Example below:

  • IF YES: Check why the data can’t be loaded into IVION. Is the dataset further then 20km away from the site base point? Do the site base point and the dataset share the same EPSG coordinate system? Were the measured control points for this dataset correct?

  • IF NO: While creating the processing task the option “Local reference system” (compare https://knowledge.navvis.com/docs/processing-tasks-1#procedure subpoint 8 b) was most likely chosen. Hence the dataset is using local coordinates.

The customer can either reprocess using a spatial reference system when uploading the control point file or contact NavVis Support to add the EPSG information manually by following this procedure: https://knowledge.navvis.com/docs/internal-how-to-addedit-epsg-code-to-the-nvd-files-without-reprocessing-data
