Updating the NavVis VLX System Software

Note: To update the NavVis system software you need a NavVis VLX license subscription.

You can update the NavVis VLX System Software from the Help (?) menu, or from a reminder message on the Home screen.

If the NavVis VLX System Software is older than three months, a reminder message and notification badge (red dot over the Settings icon) display in the main user interface.

How to update the software

Before you begin, connect the device to the internet via an Ethernet cable and using the Ethernet Port behind one of the rubber cabs next to the handbar, refer to Locating the parts of your NavVis VLX.

Procedure

1. There are various methods you can use to update the software:

   • From the reminder message, tap CHECK FOR UPDATE and available updates are displayed. If you click NOT NOW on the reminder message, the reminder message will close, but the notification badge will remain until you update the NavVis VLX System Software.

     

   • From the Home screen, tap the Help (?) icon > About this VLX > Check for update. Available updates are displayed.

     

   • From the Home screen, tap the Settings icon > CHECK FOR UPDATE. Available updates are displayed.

2. Tap INSTALL.

3. When you are prompted for a password enter the word "mapper".

4. Wait for the installation to finish.

5. Tap FINISH.

6. Restart the device.
