Article summary

Control point coordinates (poses) should be measured by a surveyor, using a total station. To use the poses in post-processing, they must be  must be created in either the .txt or .csv formats described in the Control Point Poses File.

When creating the file, keep the following in mind:

  • Use a local coordinate system for giving the control point coordinates. The post-processing will abort if any of the coordinate values are larger than +20,000 meters (20 kilometers) or smaller than -20,000 meters.

  • Give the coordinates in a right-handed coordinate system with the z-axis pointing upwards.

  • Follow the file structure shown in the reference.

  • Always include the z-coordinates of the surveyed control point poses. Datasets scanned with the NavVis M6 and the NavVis VLX will be undistorted in the z- as well as x- and y-directions.
