Converting Point Cloud Formats

Point clouds can be converted from one format into another using the tool nv_pcp. To convert a point cloud, call the following command on the command line:

nv_pcp <input-cloud> <output-cloud>

The desired target format is determined from the file extension of the output file. For instance, to convert a point cloud from PLY to PTS format:

nv_pcp /path/to/pointcloud.ply /path/to/pointcloud.pts

Note: To use Normals in E57 files generated by NavVis Software, E57 readers require the E57 surface normals extension (read more).
