# “Positioning is not enabled for the selected site” Error

## Issue description

NavVis IVION GO displays the following error message: “Positioning is not enabled for the selected site” when trying to find your position.

## Troubleshooting procedure

Request that your instance administrator [create a visual index](https://knowledge.navvis.com/docs/setting-up-navvis-positioning#generating-a-visual-index) and restart the site.
