# The User Interface

The user interface (UI) is a touch screen that controls the features and functions of the device.

## Home screen

The **Home** screen displays the following:

- **Battery status:** The battery icon indicates the charge level of the battery (the battery indicator turns red when the battery capacity drops below 20%). A warning indicator (!) appears on the battery icon when it needs to be replaced. See [Battery status](https://knowledge.navvis.com/docs/clx-checking-and-charging-the-li-ion-batteries) for details.
- **Micro-SD status:** The Micro-SD icon indicates how much storage space is available on the Micro-SD card, in percentage.
- **Wi-Fi:** This is the Wi-Fi indicator and control icon.
- **Settings button:** Tap here to adjust the system volume and camera settings, access log information, and more.
- **New:** Tap here to create a new dataset (includes sensor calibration and dataset recording).
- **Datasets:** Tap here to preview recorded datasets (see [Previewing datasets](https://knowledge.navvis.com/docs/finish-scanning-with-navvis-clx#previewing-datasets)).

## Settings screen

You can change fundamental settings of the device from the settings screen.

The following settings are available from the screen:

- **Camera:** Set the capture mode and auto trigger distance, and switch Gaussian Splatting on or off.
- **Sound:** Set the system volume level.
- **Wi-Fi:** Connect or disconnect the Wi-Fi.
- **System:** View device version information, update the software, exit the NavVis environment, view logs, and more.
