# Storage

Store the NavVis CLX correctly to avoid damage. Follow the guidelines and checklists below before and after storage.

**Caution:**

- Improper storage may damage the device.
- Store the device in the box at normal room temperature according to the instructions below.

Don't store the device in areas exposed to:

- Direct sunlight
- High temperatures
- High humidity
- Fire
- Corrosive gas
- Machines with a strong magnetic field
- Machines that generate electromagnetic waves

## Li-ion battery storage

- Store the Li-ion batteries between -20°C and 50°C maximum. For best results, store them between -20°C and 25°C.
- Li-ion batteries self-discharge slightly during storage.
- If you store the Li-ion batteries for longer than four weeks, only three of the battery's LED indicators may light up.
- Recharge the Li-ion batteries every four weeks.
- Before reuse, recharge the Li-ion batteries fully.

## Checklist for removing from storage

- Charge all Li-ion batteries.
- Allow the device to reach room temperature before turning it on — internal condensation can cause short circuits and damage the device.
- Check that storage space is available on the USB-C flash drive.
- Update the NavVis CLX software.
- Record a short dataset (approximately one minute) to make sure everything is working as expected.
