# Starting the NavVis CLX

Make sure the NavVis CLX is set up correctly. See the documentation in the shipping case or [Hardware Setup Instructions](/v1/docs/clx-hardware-setup-instructions) for more details.

1. Make sure the device is on a level surface, such as the ground or a table.

3. Wait for the IMU calibration to finish.

> [!CAUTION]
> Important
> 
> Do not move the device during this step. The inertial sensors inside the device are calibrating and are very sensitive to movement. If you move the device during startup, the screen indicates that it needs another calibration.

1. Wait for the NavVis system software to launch automatically after the system initializes.
2. If this is the first time you're turning on the device, accept the license.
3. The **Home** screen appears, and the device is ready for scanning.
