# Start the Scan

## Procedure

1. Start the device.
2. Tap **START MAPPING** on the main screen.

3. The system will prompt the user to enter a [name for the dataset](/v1/docs/naming-datasets-2) before proceeding to the [calibration steps](/v1/docs/calibrating).
4. Once the calibration has been completed, the dashboard is shown.
