# Setting Up the Extension Pole

1. **Attach the mounting adapter:** Securely screw the NavVis CLX Mounting Adapter onto the top thread of the extension pole.

2. **Mount the NavVis CLX:** Insert the extension pole into the base of the device. Align the triangle symbols on the handle and device body.

3. **Lock the pole sections:** Extend the pole only as far as needed, then fully tighten all telescopic clamp locks to prevent slipping, rotation, or vibration during scanning.
4. Check stability before scanning: Hold the pole upright, confirm the NavVis CLX is secure, and verify that the setup remains stable before starting the scan.
