# Preparing the NavVis CLX for Scanning

Use this guide to prepare the NavVis CLX before you start scanning.

1. **Clean the cameras, scanners, and screen.** If dust or fingerprints appear on the cameras, laser scanners, or screen, use the supplied clean, dry microfiber cloth to clean them gently.

  3. 3. **Insert the MicroSD card.**

> The MicroSD card is delivered with the card already installed. Use this procedure if it has been removed.

  2. > When removing the MicroSD card, push it in first to release it.

6. **Insert the pole into the device.**
  1. Insert the pole into the base of the device.   2. Twist the pole until the locking symbol on the pole aligns with the triangle on the device. You will hear a click when the pole is completely inserted, secured, and locked, and the red part of the pole will not be visible.
