Point cloud data is processed at 20 mm resolution and standard panoramas. - > [!NOTE] > Note: Standard panoramas retain their full resolution, but they are not as sharp as our highest quality panoramas available with Dynamic mode. - **Eco 40:** A pre-set for quick processing and basic assessment tasks. The point cloud data is processed at 40 mm resolution and panoramas are not processed. > [!NOTE] > Note: Eco 20 and Eco 40 processing modes are only available for datasets captured with NavVis VLX 3 and NavVis MLX. ![Settings for point cloud processing modes and deliverables for Eco 20 and Eco 40.](https://cdn.document360.io/bf174766-fa1a-4fe1-a4d7-b1db1e7cb996/Images/Documentation/b7d1401f-902c-4055-8fad-fa3a9c037fe7.png) ### Unit Consumption for different processing modes | Device | Modes | Units consumed per squared meter (units/sqm) | | --- | --- | --- | | NavVis VLX 3 | Dynamic | 25 | | Eco 20 | 15 | | Eco 40 | 10 | | NavVis MLX | Dynamic | 15 | | Eco 20 | 10 | | Eco 40 | 5 | | NavVis CLX | Dynamic | Based on licensing terms | | Eco 20 | Based on licensing terms | | Eco 40 | Based on licensing terms | ### Configure point cloud settings The following point cloud settings are available: - **High Confidence**: In this mode only points with high confidence are retained and regions that have not been scanned densely are removed. This mode is recommended for narrow indoor environments or areas with reflective surfaces. - **Standard**: This mode is for general use and yields high-quality point clouds in a wide range of scenarios. This mode is recommended for larger indoor environments. - **Outdoor**: In this mode points from sparsely scanned areas are retained. This mode is recommended for outdoor environments.![](https://cdn.document360.io/bf174766-fa1a-4fe1-a4d7-b1db1e7cb996/Images/Documentation/point cloud settings.PNG) ## Reconstruction settings > [!NOTE] > **Note:** This new feature from NavVis Processing is in beta. No additional units will be charged during this phase. If the dataset(s) were scanned using NavVis MLX with Gaussian Splatting enabled and switched on on the device, [refer to Gaussian Splatting Capture Mode](/v1/docs/changing-and-triggering-the-cameras#2-gaussian-splatting-capture-mode-beta), switch on the toggle for Gaussian splatting to process them correctly. See [How to Visualize in 3D with Gaussian Splatting](/v1/docs/how-to-visualize-in-3d-with-navvis-gaussian-splatting)g for more information. ![Settings for point cloud processing, highlighting Gaussian splatting option in reconstruction settings.](https://cdn.document360.io/bf174766-fa1a-4fe1-a4d7-b1db1e7cb996/Images/Documentation/923add49-084c-41de-81f9-02ae5c454d11.png) - Processing settings for Point cloud could be adjusted based on the user preference, Gaussion Splatting reconstruction settings are set by default when the toggle is enabled and will only be applied to datasets with **GS mode** tag. - Panorama settings are applied to panoramas that were taken manually during a Gaussian Splatting scan. > [!NOTE] > **Note:** If your Gaussian Splatting dataset was captured outdoors, select the [Outdoor point cloud preset](/v1/docs/point-cloud-and-panorama-settings-1#configure-point-cloud-settings) for better visualization of the surrounding environment in IVION. ## Panorama Settings The following panorama settings are available for data captured with NavVis VLX and NavVis MLX. ![Settings for panorama processing including blurring and floor filling options.](https://cdn.document360.io/bf174766-fa1a-4fe1-a4d7-b1db1e7cb996/Images/Documentation/image (19).png) - Person and License Plate Blurring, [refer here for more information.](/v1/docs/detection-and-blurring#person-blurring) - Floor filling: colorizes the device's blind spot where the operator is standing > [!NOTE] > **Note:** The floor filling toggle is on by default. - Include panoramas in `.e57` Point cloud > [!NOTE] > **Note:** Turn on this toggle if you want to export a point cloud with panoramas directly from IVION processing. for information about how panoramas are counted towards your subscription in NavVis IVION refer to [How are panorama counted in NavVis IVION?](/v1/docs/how-are-panoramic-images-counted) --- ### FAQ #### What is the purpose of the Eco 20 processing mode? The Eco 20 mode is designed for large spaces where geometry is important, processing point cloud data at a resolution of 20 mm and using standard panoramas. #### What happens to the point cloud data in the Outdoor mode? In the Outdoor mode, points from sparsely scanned areas are retained, making it suitable for outdoor environments. #### Are there any additional charges for using the Gaussian Splatting feature during its beta phase? No, there are no additional charges for using the Gaussian Splatting feature during its beta phase. #### What is the default setting for panorama floor filling? The floor filling toggle is on by default, which colorizes the device's blind spot where the operator is standing. #### Can I use Eco 40 mode for datasets captured with devices other than NavVis VLX 3 and NavVis MLX? No, Eco 40 mode is only available for datasets captured with NavVis VLX 3 and NavVis MLX. #### How do I avoid spending processing units on panoramas? Processing unit consumption depends on the processing mode (Dynamic, Eco 20, or Eco 40) and the device type. It doesn't depend on deleting photos from the raw data before you upload the dataset. To skip panorama processing entirely, select Eco 40 mode. Eco 40 is available for NavVis VLX 3 and NavVis MLX, and it doesn't process panoramas, so you don't spend units on them. If your dataset already includes panoramas, you can remove individual panoramas afterward. See Can I delete a panorama? for the steps. #### **How many units does Eco mode cost per sqm?** Unit consumption depends on the device and processing mode. For the NavVis VLX 3: Dynamic = 25, Eco 20 = 15, and Eco 40 = 10 units per sqm. For the NavVis MLX: Dynamic = 15, Eco 20 = 10, and Eco 40 = 5 units per sqm. #### Does changing the point cloud resolution change processing unit consumption? No. Processing unit consumption depends on the processing mode (Dynamic, Eco 20, or Eco 40) and the device type, not on the resolution setting. The resolution field is only available in Dynamic mode. For a full breakdown of consumption rates, see the Unit Consumption table above. #### Is it possible to export point clouds with panoramas from IVION processing? Yes, you can export point clouds with panoramas by enabling the appropriate toggle during the processing stage. A Point Cloud is as a collection of data points in space that typically represent the external surface of an object or environment. Point clouds are used in various applications, including 3D scanning and mapping, and can be visualized and manipulated using Navvis IVION. You can perform actions such as panning, orbiting, cleaning up noise, cropping, and downloading data in formats like .e57 or .ply. The resolution of point clouds processed with NavVis Software achieves a minimum detail of 5mm, indicating the precision of the spatial data points.
