# Normals are not computed and maps cannot be created for .e57 data

## Issue description

During the upload of .e57 data, the Normals are not computed. The following message is shown in the Task manager:

```plaintext
[NORMAL COMPUTATION]: Sensor origin is invalid. Disabling normal computation.
As a result if you try to create maps for this dataset, it will fail with the error "Dataset does not have normals"
```

## Troubleshooting procedure

This issue is caused because there is an incomplete scan location. Under "pose" in Data3D both "rotation" and "translation" are required.

### Fix the file and re-upload

1. Either remove the faulty scan location, or fix it by adding the missing information.
2. Upload the file again. The Normals will be generated and you will also be able to create maps.

Normals are perpendicular to the tangent plane line at a particular point on the surface. They yield especially useful information about a curved surface's characteristics but conversely can tell us much about the planarity of a flat or angular surface also. Normals can tell us the rate of change of curvature when a surface has an angular departure and tell us just how perfectly flat something is.

Represents a gateway for all user activities related to management of tasks. It is possible to submit a task, query a task about its status, and cancel a task.
