# Logging in as an Administrator

By default, each instance has one global admin account. A global admin has full control over the instance. The first person to log in to an instance is automatically made a global admin.

1. Open your instance in a browser.
2. Enter the user credentials that you received via email.
3. Click **Log In**.
4. If you log in for the first time, you will be asked to create your first Site.

Site refers to a complex of one or more buildings displayed in a NavVis IVION instance. For example, the Munich Airport would be one site. An instance can contain multiple sites. Each site consists of one or more datasets.
