# How to perform a total POI backup

## Introduction

### Purpose

To perform a total backup of Points of Interest (POIs) in NavVis IVION, follow these steps:

1. **Open the POI Types Menu:**

- Navigate to the POI Types menu in your site.

1. **Expand the Import/Export POIs Panel:**

- Expand the Import/Export POIs panel at the bottom of the menu.

1. **Export POIs:**

- Click Export POIs to open the export options.

1. **Choose a Coordinate System:**

- Select a coordinate system for the export. You can choose from:
  - Site coordinate system: Exports POIs in the coordinate system previously chosen for the site.
  - Spatial reference system: Exports POIs in another spatial reference system.
  - Dataset: Exports POIs in the coordinate system of a specific dataset.
  - Other (.csv format only).

1. **Select File Format:**

- Choose either .json or .csv file formats. For a complete backup, it is recommended to use the .json format as it includes all information.
