# Finish Scanning

Before finishing the dataset and leaving the scan site, check the quality map, refer here for the [quality map checklist](/v1/docs/quality-map-checklist).

## Finishing the Dataset

1. Tap the **Save Icon** ![](https://cdn.document360.io/bf174766-fa1a-4fe1-a4d7-b1db1e7cb996/Images/Documentation/finish-scanning-image-jq71o3lk.png).

1. Confirm by tapping **Yes**. A preview of the dataset is displayed. The scanning process shuts down, the images are downloaded, the Scanning Screen closes, and the screen returns to the **Home** **Screen**.

> [!WARNING]
> ![caution(1)](https://cdn.document360.io/bf174766-fa1a-4fe1-a4d7-b1db1e7cb996/Images/Documentation/caution(1).png)**Caution**: Do not shut down the device until this step is complete. If not, it could lead to corruption of data.

## Previewing Datasets

1. From the **Home Screen**, tap ![](https://cdn.document360.io/bf174766-fa1a-4fe1-a4d7-b1db1e7cb996/Images/Documentation/finish-scanning-image-r6jzn0kx.png)**Datasets**.

1. Each saved dataset displays the following information:
  - 2D map preview.
  - Size of the area mapped.
  - Dataset ID.
  - Starting time of the scanning.
  - Duration of the scanning.
  - Number of captured panoramas.
  - Number of captured control points.

1. Tap on the **Magnifying Glass Icon** and the Quality Map Preview screen will display.
  - Tap the X to close the Quality Map Preview.
  - Tap the Plus or Minus Icons to zoom in and out.
  - As you zoom in you can also pan and look around.

To process the dataset, either upload them to [NavVis IVION Processing](https://knowledge.navvis.com/v1/docs/navvis-ivion-processing), or if using [NavVis Desktop Processing](https://knowledge.navvis.com/v1/docs/navvis-desktop-processing), transfer them to your processing machine and proceed there.

Refer [here](/v1/docs/panoramas-management)for viewing the Panoramas of the dataset.

## Switching of the device

To switch off the device, open the Back Cover and press the On/Off switch.

## Data Processing with NavVis IVION

The raw data from the NavVis MLX must be processed to generate a point cloud and panoramic images.

Data processing prepares your data for use in NavVis IVION, and other CAD or BIM software. You can

- Process in the cloud using NavVis IVION to generate the point cloud and panoramic images.
- Surveyed control points will correct distortions in the point cloud.
- After processing a Quality Report can be generated to get an overview of the quality of the processing.

During processing you can configure the settings of the point cloud output, including:

- Point cloud resolution.
- Point cloud file format.
- Point cloud filtering mode.
- Point cloud coloring.
- Maximum laser scanner range.
- Floor filling - The blind spot can be filled with image information, where the scanner is standing, when taking 360° images,
- Automatic detection and blurring of people’s faces.
- Automatic object detection.

For detailed data processing instructions using NavVis IVION visit [Processing Data](https://knowledge.navvis.com/v1/docs/processing-data).
