# Frequenly asked questions about IVION user permissions

## Common questions on how to correctly setup user permissions

Q: How do I assign rights for exporting a POI without having an admin account?

A: Only global admin and site admin roles can export POIs.

Q: Why default users in the group section cannot be deleted?

A: The default user groups that come with the site (Admin, Editor, Viewer) cannot be deleted.

Q: Could you please provide some information on why some rights do not work for the users, for example "Manage data"?

A: In order to manage Datasets, you have to use global admin or site admin roles.

Q: Can admin bulk edit the user permissions?

A: Yes, global admin user can go to the "User permission" tab, and bulk edit the user permissions with the button "Define permissions".

Q: How do I make a Site visible for only certain user groups?

A: Set a site to private, you have the option to determine the lowest visible group like below:

Point Of Interest

A dataset is a piece of a site, the result of a continuous recording with a NavVis mapping device or the result of an imported point cloud. Datasets can contain panoramic images and point clouds.

Site refers to a complex of one or more buildings displayed in a NavVis IVION instance. For example, the Munich Airport would be one site. An instance can contain multiple sites. Each site consists of one or more datasets.

Bundles, specifically referred to as Alignment Bundles in NavVis IVION, are collections of related datasets that have been grouped together after being aligned. The primary purpose of creating an alignment bundle is to save the relative locations of these datasets to each other, enabling coordinated management and use within the system
