We do not recommend that you open or close doors during a scanning session, as this can create problems with post-processing and SLAM
By default, moving objects (e.g. doors, moving people) will be filtered out by the dynamic object filter during post-processing.
In edge cases, SLAM can break as a result of the unexpected movement that the NavVis VLX will interpret as moving walls. Especially combined with sharper turns of the device, and challenging scanning environments, such as open outdoor spaces.
Opening and closing doors should be done as part of the preparation of scanning a site, refer to Preparing the Site for details.
