# How to disinfect the tires before entering into bacteria free areas

## Introduction

### Purpose

How to clean the NavVis M6 tires before entering an area where that would be required.

### Scope

This applies to the NavVis M6.

## Procedure

Use alcohol cleansers to clean the tires. We use the one with 99.9% alcohol.

Have the tires removed separately and clean them. Since the tires do not have smooth surface we cannot guarantee you that 100% of bacteria will be removed.

Alternatively, cover the tires with a thin sheet of plastic, much like shoe protectors when entering a hospitals. In that case there is no risk of bacteria being carried inside with the device.
