# Managing POI Types

## Adding a New POI Type

1. From the Site menu, select **POI Types**.

2. Click **+ Add category** under any POI type group.

3. In the **Add a new category** dialog:

  1. Choose the language(s) for the POI category name.
  2. Enter a name for the category in the **Name**field.
  3. Upload an image for the category icon or use the default icon. The chosen icon will be the default icon for any POIs in that type, so we recommend choosing one that reflects the category of the POI.
  4. From the **Category group** drop-down menu, select the correct group for the POI category.
  5. In the **Visible from zoom** and **Visible up to zoom** fields, enter the zoom levels which POIs of this type should be visible between. Click the quick copy icons next to the field to copy the current zoom level.
4. Click **Save**.

## Editing a POI Type

1. Open the **POI Types** menu.

2. Hover over the POI type you want to edit and click the pencil icon next to it.

3. In the **Edit Category** dialog, edit the attributes of the POI type.

4. Click **Save**.

## Deleting a POI Type

1. Open the **POI Types** menu.

2. Hover over the POI type you want to delete and click the pencil icon next to it.

3. In the **Edit Category**dialog, click **Delete**.

4. Confirm the deletion.
