# How to Connect and Capture 360° Images

This document describes how to connect a 360° camera, capture 360° images, and upload them to NavVis IVION using the NavVis IVION Go app.

## Procedure

#### **1. Open 360° Capture in IVION GO**

1. Open the IVION GO App.
2. From the menu, open **360° Capture.**

#### **2. Connect the 360°camera**

1. On the **360° Capture** screen, tap **Connect 360° Camera**.
2. Wait while the app searches for nearby cameras (Discovering).
3. After your camera is discovered, tap **Set Up**. Confirm pairing when prompted.

> IVION Go currently supports the following 360° cameras:
> 
> - Insta360 RS One 1 inch edition
> - Insta360 X3
> - Insta360 X4
> - Insta360 X5
> - Ricoh Theta X
> - Ricoh Theta Z1
> - Ricoh Theta SC

> **Note:**
> 
> - If needed, switch to **Manual**, enter the camera password, and tap **Find Camera**. Once paired, the camera will display as ***Connected*** under **My Cameras.**
> - The camera discovery UI differs slightly between iOS and Android, but the steps to connect the camera are identical.

#### **3. Create New Capture**

1. Tap **+ New Capture**.
2. Enter a new name for the capture.
3. Confirm the site and connected camera.
4. Tap **Start Capturing**.

> **Note:** Each 360° capture is uploaded to IVION as a separate dataset.

#### **4. Capture 360°images**

1. Move through the site and capture panoramas by the white capture button in the center of the screen. Hold the camera steady and level while the panorama is captured.
2. Once the images are captured, wait untill the processing is complete.
3. Continue and repeat until all required locations are captured.

> **Note:**Tap the preview thumbnail or a blurred panorama marker to view a panorama preview.

#### **5. Review the images**

1. After capturing, the **360° Capture Details** screen is displayed.
2. Here you can review:
  - Capture duration
  - File size
  - Number of 360° images
  - Processing status of each panorama

> [!NOTE]
> **Possible statuses:**
> 
> - **Complete** - Panorama successfully processed.
> - **Error** - Panorama could not be processed or positioned.
> - **Pending** - Panorama is awaiting positioning.

> **Note:** Positioning can be retried by tapping Retry or refreshing the page.

#### **6. Upload to NavVis IVION**

1. After reviewing the images, Tap **Upload to IVION.**
2. If a warning is displayed stating Unprocessed Panoramas:
  - Select **Continue** to upload only processed images, or
  - Select **Cancel** to resolve issues with unprocessed panaromas before uploading.

> **Note:**
> 
> - During an active capture, uploads use the mobile data connection.
> - To upload using a different network, disconnect the camera and reopen the capture.
> - Always keep the app active during upload. Locking the screen or sending the app to the background causes the upload to fail. In this case, retry uploading.

> [!WARNING]
> Unprocessed panoramas will not be included in the upload.
